Our story began at Culver’s, where a simple meeting turned into the start of something beautiful. Josh couldn’t take his eyes off Kyndra, thinking she was absolutely gorgeous and sweet. Meanwhile, Kyndra thought Josh was adorable and kind, but she also saw something deeper—she knew he needed Jesus.
Our first date at Lake Altoona was full of laughter and connection, but the real turning point came when Kyndra invited Josh to church. That moment began a journey that led Josh to God, changing his life forever.
Before officially dating, Josh had an important coffee (and tofu!) conversation with Kyndra’s dad. Her dad advised: “Don’t ask her out until you’re right with the Lord.” Taking that to heart, Josh grew in his faith and, once ready, finally asked Kyndra to be his girlfriend.
From there, their relationship blossomed. They both traveled to Rhode Island on a mission trip with Cedar Creek and grew closer through serving together. They also joined a worship team, sharing their love for music and faith.
One year into dating, Josh surprised Kyndra by taking her back to Lake Altoona, where it all began, under the guise of “1-year photos.” But instead of just pictures, he got down on one knee and asked Kyndra to spend forever with him.
The rest, as they say, is history.
“Weve spent 365 days together, and that number’s just gonna keep going up, and I want my love for you to follow, I wanna love your eyes, your smile and your soul more and more each day for the rest of our lives. It would be an honor for me to spend those days with you. Kyndra Mae Polden, will you be my wife?”
